RESEARCH IN AFRICA
August 2011 - August 2012

  • Interviewed Rwandan construction crew; analyzed the economics of earth block production. Surveyed urban house types; documented vernacular buildings in Rwanda and Uganda.

  • Research assistant for analysis and design of new housing prototypes. Produced schematic drawings, researched master plans, mapped urban conditions, created presentation materials, managed a team of four students.

TRAVEL FELLOWSHIP
Summer 2010

  • Awarded a fellowship to study the architecture of Joze Plecnik. Traveled to Prague, Vienna, and Ljubljana (Slovenia) for documentation and analysis. School-wide lecture presented at Tulane in November of 2010.
